Senior Beavers is a senior adult group, although you do not have to be a senior citizen to participate!

This active group meets on the second Tuesday of each month. Sometimes we get together in the education building of the church for a program and covered dish luncheon; at other times we enjoy going out for the day. Outings range from 10 to 60 miles away from the church and include picnics, restaurant dining, visiting museums and places of history, shopping, and nature scenery. Whatever we are doing, it is always a good time of fellowship spent with other seniors!

We would love to have you join us! Want to learn more? Contact B.J. Cox at (865) 690-1680.

Senior Ministry News

As part of our Senior Ministry at BRUMC, we have developed an affiliation with our neighbor, Autumn Care Assisted Living. Each Tuesday at 1:00 pm, we engage the residents and staff in devotion and fellowship, and on the first, second and fourth Sunday of each month we host a worship service there.

On the second Tuesday of each month, we hold Senior Beaver gatherings and outings. We encourage those senior members in the church and community to join us for fun and fellowship! On May 10th, our Senior Beavers traveled to Pigeon Forge to the Country Tonite Theater for an enjoyable program devoted to country music appreciation. We also had dinner, dessert and fellowship at a local restaurant in Pigeon Forge. Our next outing will be a picnic to Cove Lake State Park on Tuesday, June 14. We will meet at the church at 10:00 am. Please call Jackie to reserve a seat on the van, 865-690-1187.

Other plans for this summer include a luncheon at a local restaurant on July 12th, and on August 9th we will again be traveling to Pigeon Forge to the Biblical Times Dinner Theater to support our music director, Gage Sharp, who will be appearing as Apostle John in the play “Peter”.

For the months of September through December we are planning an Ice Cream Social, an Apple Orchard trip, holiday celebrations for Thanksgiving and Christmas, as well as other outings and gatherings.

In the next couple of weeks we will be engaging church attendees to participate in a survey that will enable us to focus on our activities for the BRUMC Senior Ministry. Please participate by completing the survey; your concerns are important to us.
